Pamicor Expands Geotechnical Capability with Acquisition of Advanced CPTu System

PAMICOR Limited has significantly upgraded its geotechnical and hydrological investigation capabilities with the acquisition of a state-of-the-art Cone Penetration Testing with Pore Pressure (CPTu) system, manufactured by Gouda Geo-Equipment B.V. of the Netherlands.

The CPTu system, which includes seismicity measuring options, delivers continuous, high-resolution soil profiling. This significantly improves the quality of subsurface data available for mine design, tailings storage assessment, and infrastructure development across West Africa.

What the CPTu System Delivers

The addition of this technology positions Pamicor as one of the only indigenous West African contractors capable of providing this level of precision geotechnical testing to mining and civil clients.

For Tailings Storage Facilities (TSFs), the system provides critical real-time data for stability monitoring. For complex infrastructure projects, it enables accurate determination of soil stratigraphy, bearing capacity, and settlement parameters. For site characterisation on new mining projects, it offers faster, more reliable data for both civil and mining engineering designs.

Bridging Global Precision With Indigenous Execution

The CPTu acquisition is consistent with Pamicor’s broader strategic approach: integrating world-class technology with local execution capability. By deploying internationally engineered systems through its own Ghanaian technical teams, Pamicor eliminates the cost and logistical burden of importing foreign geotechnical contractors.

The system is fully mobilised and deployed under Pamicor’s “By Africa for Africa” (BAFA) operational philosophy, built on the commitment that every piece of value extracted from West African soil should benefit the people and industries of those communities.

Better ground data means safer mine designs, more accurate feasibility work, and fewer costly surprises during construction.
