PAMICOR Limited, in partnership with Asante Gold Chirano Ltd (AGCL), undertook a community investment initiative in October 2025, visiting St. Patrick’s Basic School at Akaaso to welcome fresh pupils and provide them with the tools to begin their education confidently.
The team distributed school bags, books, and essential learning materials to children beginning their first year of school.
Investing In The Future, From The Start
Pamicor’s Organisational Capabilities Coordinator for AGCL, Adwoa Nyamaa Frempong, put the initiative in simple terms: “As a Ghanaian company… investing in education is investing in the future.”
Pamicor has understood this since 1993. The company’s licence to operate in Ghana’s mining communities depends on its technical performance underground and its visible investment in the wellbeing of the people above ground. Both matter equally.
A Model For Mining-Community Relations
The collaboration between Pamicor and Asante Gold Chirano is an example of what effective CSR looks like when it is driven by community need rather than corporate optics: targeted, practical, and rooted in genuine relationships with the people it serves.
As Ghana’s mining sector continues to evolve, the companies that sustain long-term social legitimacy will be those that make community investment a consistent, values-driven practice.
