PAMICOR Limited played a central role in the AusIMM Tarkwa Student Chapter’s 11th Annual Conference 2026, held under the theme “Workforce of the Future: Building Capacity for a Changing Mining Industry.” Executive Director Kofi Peter Amponsah-Mensah served as Conference Chair, guiding proceedings that brought together industry professionals, academics, and students to address the skills and mindset required to meet the evolving demands of Ghana’s mining sector.

PREPARING THE NEXT GENERATION
The conference featured a panel discussion with experienced industry practitioners and academic representatives. Conversations focused on continuous professional development, the ability to adapt to new technologies, and the need for both technical depth and strong interpersonal skills. Students were encouraged to pursue internships, expand their professional networks, and engage actively with industry platforms throughout their studies.
Participants also received an international perspective through a video presentation by Rodney Elvish, a Consulting Metallurgist based in Australia, who shared insights on career development within the global mining industry.
An inspiring address from the Chapter’s founder, Dr. Ing. Henry Antwi, traced his professional journey from Ghana to the international mining space. He challenged students to stay disciplined, committed, and proactive in pursuing their career goals.

INVESTING IN PEOPLE, NOT JUST OPERATIONS
For Pamicor, involvement in the AusIMM Tarkwa Student Chapter is a natural extension of how the company operates. Workforce development has never been a peripheral activity. It is embedded in the company’s approach to building a sustainable, locally skilled mining sector.
This is the same philosophy that drives Pamicor’s Graduate Maintenance Training Programme with Sandvik, now in its third cohort, and the company’s consistent investment in safety training and technical upskilling at every site it operates.
The conference also included a fundraising session, with individuals and organisations contributing to support the Chapter’s ongoing activities and future initiatives.

BUILDING THE BRIDGE BETWEEN CAMPUS AND MINE SITE
The event concluded with a networking session, giving students direct access to professionals across the mining value chain for career guidance and knowledge sharing
Pamicor was proud to sponsor the conference alongside A4 Mining Services, Geocrest, and Master Drilling, reinforcing a shared commitment to student development and the long-term strength of Ghana’s mining talent pipeline.
The company remains committed to bridging the gap between academic preparation and operational reality, ensuring that the next generation of mining professionals is ready to lead from day one
